The back entrance of Burly’s is down an alley and the parking is nestled between other nice, tall buildings that would easily obscure from sight anyone up to no good. Then, the entrance is literally on the roof of the first floor in the back (it’s on a hill so the back has two stories while the front only has one). So, even as I begin to say this, my feminist mind is slapping my wrist, but nonetheless… ladies, if you are going at night, I have to recommend that you have in your possession at least one of the following: 1) a male escort, 2) a weapon 3) serious Kung Fu skills. I haven’t done any research on crime in the area, but even during the day, I was glad not to be back there alone. But on to the really important stuff- the burgers!

I had the Burley Heat Burger with Chili-Cheese Fries. This burger was absolutely fantastic. Even with the jalapenos accidentally left off, I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t really that hot, but hey, it still tasted great. The cheese on the fries was perfect. Personally, I could have done without the chili, but there wasn’t anything to not like about it. Looking back, I’m not sure why I didn’t just order cheese fries.

Anyway, my sister got the Bacon Bacon Burger with Buffalo fries. This is “Diners, Drive Ins and Dives” material. The ingredients are simply: mayo, cheese, bacon, bacon, lettuce. Yep. They toss their fries in the dressing that they are described with, so the buffalo fries came tossed in a hot wing sauce. Somehow they were still crispy after eating part of the burger, so that says something. I’m betting they double fry them, but that may just be because now I am thinking of “Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives.”
My dad got the Farm Burger which comes with a fried egg on the burger. And as he says, just about everything is good with a fried egg on it. He got the garlic fries, and they were probably the best thing I ate that day.

The service was great, although the restaurant was a little warm inside. It was over 100 degrees that day, so maybe the air conditioner just couldn’t keep up. Me, I prefer to never get hotter than 68 degrees, ever. So I have sort of high standards on air conditioning.
All three of us were extremely pleased, and on our way out Burley himself asked us how our food was, and if it was good enough to bring us back. I think so!
